Description This resource will help students reflect on their reading and the reading strategies being used. As you teach skills in mini lessons, students should be applying those skills as they read independently. Reflecting on their own reading will help them focus on the skills and grow as readers. Included in this resource: Reflecting on reading task cards: 7 task cards to reflect on reading. There are also pages that you can print and have students write their reflections for you to review. They can be put into their notebooks or there is a cover page to make small reflection books for students. Also included are exit tickets. The exit tickets are meant to be used for any book. Students will fill in a sticky note and stick it on the exit ticket. These are a great way to do an informal assessment/status of the class. There are exit tickets to use that are for reading behaviors and routines (15), reading literature (9-please note, RL does not have a .8 standard), and reading informational text (10). Two blank tickets are included for you to create your own. *TIP: print each type of exit ticket on different color paper* Reflecting on your reading and exit tickets are great to wrap up your share time of reading workshop. These materials are a part of the Launching Reading Workshop unit which includes everything that you need to launch reading workshop in your classroom and more.
